Regional NSW and Sydney based architectural firm, integratedDESIGNgroup, and developer Columbia Aged Care Services, were recognised as a Finalist for their achievement at this year’s UDIA NSW | Meriton Awards for Excellence 2016.

The Awards are presented in celebration of the highest levels of achievement in innovation, sustainability and industry leadership in the urban development industry, for projects carried out within New South Wales and which were completed by May/June 2016.

integratedDESIGNgroup and Columbia Aged Care Services were one of four finalist in the Excellence in Aged-Care Category for their design and development of the new Oberon Village Aged Care Facility in Oberon NSW.

integratedDESIGNgroup Director, Tony McBurney, said “These awards encapsulate our company vision – we aim to provide visionary and affordable architectural services to people, working with our clients to realise their aspirations. It’s a great privilege to be recognised as a finalist for our accomplishment in these fields.”

The Oberon Village Aged Care Facility exemplified great leadership, innovation and social contextual fit for the local community of Oberon, NSW. The key to its successful development was by looking at a new and more cost effective design that involved much ownership and engagement from local residents, community and Council. The result was to embrace the grand but simple sophistication of the traditional local country homestead manor, with the aged care facility being a combination of 3 dwellings displaying these characteristics across a challenging, sloping site. It offers a dignified and inviting new home for local residents and social facility for community as a whole.

This year’s Excellence Gala Dinner event was held at The Star in Sydney, NSW.
