The Tunaweza Children’s Centre is a registered non-profit organization located in Kampala, Uganda that provides children with special needs access to therapy and day programs to support the specific needs of the child and their family.

The Tunaweza Children’s Centre follows a holistic approach to serving children with special needs. The services they provide include Child Assessment and Treatment plans, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Behavioral Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Individualized Education Plans, Psychosocial support and outreach. Tunaweza believes in providing children and their families with dignity, respect, justice, excellence, and independence.

EMI and Tunaweza began talks in May 2025 regarding their plan to develop The Tunaweza Pathway site in Kitalya. This project, on an approximately 10-acre site is aimed at expanding their services to take children through a development path i.e. residential, therapy, education and life skills, walking with each child at their own pace.

EMI is partnering with Tunaweza to provide multi disciplinary services to conceptualize a master plan and architectural design for The Tunaweza Pathway.
